Central Jackson County fire crews battled a duplex fire early Sunday morning.
Crews were called to the 1200 block of Kings Cross about 6:30.
There they encountered one half of a duplex on fire.
Chief Eddie Saffel says it appears nobody was home at the time.
The fire was called in by the neighbor on the other half of the duplex.
It appears about half of the duplex suffered smoke and fire damage.
No word yet on the cause of the blaze.
