Fire crews worked to put out a duplex fire in Blue Springs early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 37th Street and 40 Highway around 3 a.m.
The fire heavily damaged one side of the duplex. Two people in the damaged side made it out safely. The other side has minor smoke damage, according to officials. One man made it OK on that side of the duplex.
Crews are in the process of putting out hotspots. Half of the duplex is considered a total loss, according to authorities.
