KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Grandview police say officers are investigating a possible homicide after a man was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound inside a running vehicle.

The 25-year-old man was in a parking lot near 119th and Newton Avenue. He was in the driver's seat of a black 2015 Chevrolet Equinox.

One neighbor says his friend noticed the vehicle last night.

"He said the car was running when he got out of his car and went in and then this morning when he got up to go to work the car was still running," said Ronald Miles who lives in the apartment complex.

This is the same area where 27-year-old Lynette Williams's body was found burned by a dumpster. Her partner, Kasanova Callier, is charged in her death.

Miles says the death of Williams is one he and other neighbors won't soon forget.

"That was tragic as well," he said.
