Drivers license returned to Independence woman after wallet was stolen

An Independence woman is thankful after a stranger mailed her license to her after it was stolen from her car.

Jamie Goldesberry said someone broke into her car in October. The thief stole a wallet from the car. Goldesberry said in a Facebook post that she got out of her car without realizing the wallet fell out of her purse.

Goldesberry noticed the wallet was missing the next morning. She said no one used the credit cards that were in the wallet.

The stranger mailed Goldesberry the license to her on Tuesday with no return address.

The note attached to the license reads:

“Guess what I found? I found this under a seat at one of the Pick ‘n’ Pulls. Same place I found the stamp and envelopes. The (omitted) look hard for this and credit cards, anything to be able to steal someone’s identity. Lucky for you I got there first. Have a good day.”

“I’m extremely thankful that in a world that seems to be so hateful right now that I could share the letter and show everyone there is still goodness and honesty. This person has taken something that was completely negative for me and shined some light my way,” said Goldesberry.
