WATCH: Crews rescue boy from frozen pond

A 16-year-old boy was pulled to safety after falling through an ice-covered pond in Independence. 

The teenager was walking on the pond at Bass Pro Shops near the I-70 and I-470 interchange. He was approximately 40 yards from the bank when he fell into the water. 

Emergency crews rescued the boy and he was taken to the hospital. He is expected to be ok.
