INDEPENDENCE, Mo. UPDATED 4 PM 4/12/2018: A Kansas City man is charged with first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing his father in Independence.

Curtis V. Lee, 39, is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. The death of Lee's uncle is also under investigation.

According to court records, officers were called to a "nature unknown" call just before 2:45 a.m. Thursday on the 3500 block of S. Lynn Court in Independence.

Clyde and Charles Burtin were both found dead inside the home from stab wounds. Lee was there when officers arrived and was quickly taken into custody.

Lee, who admitted to smoking PCP with his uncle, said his father and uncle got into an argument and claimed his father stabbed his uncle. He told investigators he then went into his father's bedroom and smoked a cigarette with him. Lee said his father stated, "It's going to be your or me," so Lee grabbed the knife and stabbed him.

According to court documents, investigators asked Lee why he didn't just leave after grabbing the knife and he reportedly said he did not think of that.

Prosecutors have requested a $200,000 bond.
