Independence police cancel Silver Alert for missing 64-year-old man with dementia

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. UPDATE 11/29/2017 8:48 PM: Officials have cancelled the Silver Alert for a missing 64-year-old man from Independence after he was found safe.

PREVIOUS STORY:

Independence police issued an Endangered Silver Advisory alert for Lavelle R. Davis, a 64-year-old Independence man. 

Police said Davis has dementia and epilepsy, and he doesn’t have his medication. 

Davis is a black man, 5’10” tall, weighs 170 pounds with salt and pepper colored hair and brown eyes. 

He was last seen at 8:24 a.m. Wednesday leaving his home on foot in the 100 block of South Chrysler Avenue in Independence. He was seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black sweatshirt, blue sweatpants and white tennis shoes. 

Anyone who sees Lavelle is asked to call 911, local law enforcement, or the Independence Police Department at 816-836-3600.
