Lafayette County deputy involved in deadly shooting

One man is dead following an officer-involved shooting Tuesday morning.

The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office said police received a call at 9 a.m. about two men being at the caller's house on the North Outer Road east of Johnson Drive asking for gasoline. The caller said the men then left her house and were parked at the end of the drive by the Outer Road. A deputy went to the location and made contact with the two men.

Police said one of the men produced a gun and was fatally shot by the deputy. He was later identified as Nicholas Ferro, 47, of Kansas City, Missouri.

The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office said Glen Williams, 48, also of Kansas City, Missouri, surrendered and was arrested at the scene. Williams is charged with felony DWI, felony driving while revoked and felony possession of burlgary tools. Williams' bond is set at $75,000. 

The incident remains under investigation.
