Part of 9 Highway in Platte County closed on Tuesday night.
A water line break damaged the highway, forcing crews to close it between Platte Hills Road and Cadwallader.

The Missouri Department of Transportation and Missouri American Water are on the scene to fix the break.
Missouri American Water crews say after the water line broke, there was increased pressure underground which caused the road to perforate. Crews are tearing up the concrete and filling it in with gravel.
Depending on the weather, MoDOT says at the earliest it could open is Wednesday afternoon.
