The Pleasant Hill R-3 School District said it’s investigating after an Intermediate School student made a threat on Thursday to bring a gun to school.

The district posted on Facebook that Pleasant Hill police and the Cass County Juvenile Office have worked with district administrators to investigate overnight and “have taken the necessary steps to guarantee the safety of PHIS students and staff.” The district also said there will be extra security at school Friday.

The post says that school administrators will follow discipline policies and students who make threats will not be at school.

The district said school administrators and staff at all buildings have been notified of the situation.

The district did not say how it was informed of the threat.
