Way to go, Navy Lt. Brandon Hempler!

Hempler was just selected as part of the 2017 Blue Angels team for the United States Navy.

The 2007 K-State graduate from Wamego, Kansas, pilots an F/A-18 Super Hornet that can reach up to 1,190 mph.

“I am inspired by all of those who applied this year and we have an exceptional group to add to next year’s team," said Flight Leader and Commanding Officer, Ryan Bernacchi.

Hempler has been assigned to Training Squadron TWO-TWO (VT-22), the “Golden Eagles,” at NAS Kingsville, Texas.
