Three people have been detained by police for questioning following an armed standoff in Grain Valley early Sunday morning.
Authorities were called to a home in the 1600 block of Northwest Hillside Lane around 7 a.m. after a report of an armed individual firing shots at a residence.
When officers responded, three people barricaded themselves inside the house and refused to come out. All three people left the home after a peaceful standoff that lasted an hour.
Investigators found evidence of shots being fired, but no injuries were reported.
Police officers from Grain Valley, Oak Grove and Blue Springs participated in the operation along with sheriffs from Jackson County and troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
