Two drivers were killed in a crash on I-70 in Columbia early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to I-70 at the 125 mile maker just before 5:00 a.m.
Police say a Hyundai Sonata, driven by Vanessa Beatty, 28, of Columbia was westbound in the eastbound lanes when she crashed head-on into a white Buick LaCrosse driven by James Carter II, 42, of Columbia.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
Police are investigating weather or not alcohol or drugs may have played a role.
The roadway was back open just before 7:00 a.m.
