The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported nine people died during this year’s Thanksgiving holiday counting period. According to a news release from MHP, the counting period is from 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29.
The news release from MHP states troopers investigated 544 traffic crashes, which included 150 injuries. Troopers also arrested 99 people for driving while impaired.
According to the MHP news release, during the 2014 Thanksgiving holiday, troopers investigated 319 traffic crashes, which included 109 injuries. Troopers arrested 92 people for driving while impaired the same weekend in 2014.
MHP said there was one boating crash, zero boating fatalities, no boating while intoxicated arrests and no drownings reported during the counting period.
