A man has been taken into custody after he allegedly shot and killed a person on Tuesday in Henry County.

Police were called to 300 Winchell Street in Windsor, Missouri, after reports of shots being fired. When officers arrived, they observed a white male lying on the front porch with apparent gunshot wounds to the chest.

Despite medical personnel performing resuscitation efforts, 45-year-old Terry Lynn Maples died at the scene.

Another resident at the scene, Jeffrey Dean Watring, 44, was apprehended by the authorities and is being held for second-degree murder.

A search warrant was served at the residence later that afternoon by deputies and several items were seized as evidence in the investigation.
