Tear gas and pepper spray fog was used in a police standoff in Claycomo on Sunday.
ClayComo police served an arrest warrant on the 400 block of Whitney. According to officials, the suspected person has barricaded themself inside a duplex in the 400 block of Whitney.
Kansas City, Missouri Police SWAT units provided backup and attempted to contact the suspect. He did not respond but threatened to "have a shootout" with police at some point, officials said.
The suspect used to live next to the duplex he barricaded in and was known to ClayComo officers. authorities said. After police used tear gas and a pepper spray fog, the suspect gave up and surrendered.
Claycomo's Police headquarters and Show me Shooters gun shop & range are within blocks of the duplex. Police requested the gun range shut down until the standoff ended.
