FOX Sports to show Royals marathon Christmas Day

FOX Sports Kansas City announced Friday it will air a 16.5 hour Royals marathon on Friday, Dec. 25, starting at 9 a.m. and it will end the next morning at 1:30 a.m.

The news release from FOX Sports KC states the Royals Christmas Day Marathon will include Games 1 and 5 of the World Series, three memorable regular-season games, a one-hour retrospective titled “Take the Crown” and a replay of the championship parade and rally.

Royals Christmas Day Marathon Schedule (times in CT)

9 a.m. July 12: Royals 11, Blue Jays 10 - Paulo Orlando homers in the eighth.

11 a.m. Aug. 23: Royals 8, Red Sox 6 - Royals rally with four runs in the ninth at Fenway.

1 p.m. Take the Crown - A one-hour retrospective on the 2015 Royals

2 p.m. Sept. 24: Royals 10, Mariners 4 - Kansas City celebrates its first division title since 1985.

4 p.m. World Series Game 1: Royals 5, Mets 4 -- Alcides Escobar starts it with an inside-the-park home run, Alex Gordon ties it in the ninth and Eric Hosmer ends it in the 14th. 

7 p.m. Take the Crown

8 p.m. World Series Game 5: Royals 7, Mets 2 – Royals win the World Series!

11 p.m. Royals Victory Parade and Celebration

12:30 a.m. Take the Crown

The Royals Christmas Day Marathon can be seen on FOX Sports KC and FOX Sports Midwest in the Royals TV footprint including DirecTV channel 671 and Dish 418 or 412-08.  

A note from FOX Sports KC: Regular-season games are edited to a two-hour window, the World Series games to three hours and the parade/celebration to 90 minutes.
