Perez is the third Royal to be honored with a gold Glove Award in four straight years, according to a news release from the Royals. Alex Gordon won four straight years from 2011 to 2014, and Frank White won awards five straight years from 1977-1982.

The news release said this marks the sixth-straight season Kansas City has had at least one Gold Glove winner, dating back to 2011.
The awards were voted on by managers and coaches from the American and National Leagues. Outfielder Alex Gordon and first baseman Eric Hosmer were both nominated for Gold Glove Awards this year.
