The Big 12 Tournament celebrates 20 years in KC this year. The first competition held at Kansas City’s Kemper Arena in 1997.
It was the epitome of a border war.
Number 10 seed University of Missouri Tigers taking on the number one seed Kansas Jayhawks.
Many have fond memories of Kemper Arena – it’s conventions, concerts, competitions, soccer, hockey, and basketball. And most, even as the city moved forward with the Sprint Center, still reserved room in their hearts Kemper’s history.
