We're celebrating KC-area seniors affected by coronavirus closings

41 Action News wants to showcase senior athletes, both high school and college, who had their seasons cut short or didn't even have a chance to begin. Email submissions to newssports@kshb.com.

    Jordan Farmer is a senior at Olathe North. She's plays first base for the softball team and will continue her softball career at Park University.

    Savannah Bray is a senior at Olathe North and plays second base for the softball team. She will play at Baker University next season.

    Jayme Dean is a senior at Olathe North and is a pitcher for the team. She threw a perfect game in the first round at the state tournament last season in the Eagles 2-0 win over Mill Valley.
  • Hailey Hatfield
    Olathe North senior Hailey Hatfield is the center fielder for the Eagles. She will play at the University of Minnesota Crookston.

    With the 2020 senior class, the Olathe North softball team went 52-20 in the last three seasons.

    Olathe West senior Kaden Cooley was entering the track and field season as one of the top 3200M runners in the region. He'll continuing running in college at the University of Saint Mary.

    Olathe West senior Mikala Bourquin was a state qualifier in track & field and cross country. She's also great in power lifting.

    Ryder Amos, senior at Olathe West, is an example of a senior leader. He runs the 1600M, 3200M, and 4x800M relay.

    Josh Robinson is involved in XC, track, and a member of the band. Underclassmen look up to his example. He will attend MidAmerica Nazarene University.

    Blue Valley North Boys Basketball Seniors: 20-3 overall record
    The majority of these seniors have been playing basketball together since they were 5 years old. They made it to the State Tournament in Wichita and their season was abruptly ended after beating Lawrence High to advance to the final four. The 6 Seniors are: Jack Sheplak, Nick Blackford, Shawn Hendershot, Cade Bohannon, Jack Souder, Gabe Deng

    Lansing three-sports athlete TJ Robinson was right on track to beat the Kansas 5A 800M state record, which was set in 1985. He was only 1.1 seconds off his junior year and was hoping his senior track and field season would make him the state champion and solidify his record. Robinson will attend the University of Central Arkansas where he plans to major in Exercise Science.
