KANSAS CITY. MO. — Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will deliver a virtual commencement address at his college alma mater, Texas Tech University, on May 23.
The school announced Friday that it has “the MVP of commencement speakers next Saturday” on Twitter.

Mahomes was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft after a stellar career with the Red Raiders.
He was voted NFL MVP in 2018 during his first full season as the Chiefs’ starter and led Kansas City to a Super Bowl title last season, earning MVP honors during a Super Bowl LIV victory against San Francisco in February.
The Texas Tech commencement schedule begins at 9 a,m, on May 23.
