Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes continues to lead Pro Bowl voting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes continues to lead fan voting for the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl.

Mahomes — the 2018 NFL MVP, reigning Super Bowl MVP and odds-on favorite to win the 2020 MVP — hasreceived 206,525 votes, according to information released Thursday by the NFL.

He leads Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson, the leading vote-getter so far in the NFC, by more than 3,000 votes through Wednesday morning..

Mahomes also is the Chiefs’ nominee for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, which will announce eight finalists Dec.18 in conjunction with the Pro Bowl finalists announcement.

Each NFL nominates one player “who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition” for the award, which is named for the late Steelers owner and NFL Hall of Famer.

Former Chiefs defensive end Justin Houston is the Indianapolis Colts’ nominee.

Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce ranks fifth overall in Pro Bowl voting with 185,218 votes.

Overall, there are three Chiefs who lead the way in voting at their respective positions, including defensive tackle Chris Jones.

Only Pittsburgh Steelers players have received more votes than Chiefs players across all positions, according to the NFL.

Pro Bowl voting continues through Dec. 17 and fans can vote on Twitter by including the first and last name, a player’s official Twitter handle or a hashtag with the player’s first and last name along with the#ProBowlVote hashtag.
