When it comes to football at Mill Valley High School, the focus is on "V".

After beating St. Thomas Aquinas last week behind the play of senior Christian Jegen, the Jaguars are praising his versatility.

"He played pretty much everywhere offensively and defensively as well. He just had a great overall game," said Mill Valley Head Coach Joel Applebee.  "He not only caught and ran the ball well for us, but also blocked well defensively. He did his job. He did everything we asked him to do and he did a great job with it."

That great job includes 151 yards on 9 receptions, two of which were for touchdowns.

He's a playmaker who is a threat on both sides of the football.

"Most coaches have been really upfront with me," Jegen said. "I know I think of myself as a offensive guy, but they told me that they like me on defense, which is fine."

Jegen is receiving attention from colleges.

"I really liked Iowa," Jegen said. "They have great facilities. KU's got nice facilities too,  and as of right now, those are the ones that I like."

Jegen and the Jaguars will take on Blue Valley Northwest Friday.
