KANSAS CITY, Mo. – An NFL battle has been brewing under one Kansas City roof.
Jeff Holsted is a Chiefs fan. His wife, Shellie, roots for the New England Patriots.
"We take it in stride,” Shellie said. “Expletives have been shared, yes, yes."
Football is a big part of their relationship. They even used it in their wedding cake decorations.
"It's fun banter because when you're fans of the same team, there's no banter,” Shellie said. “You’ve got to banter."
For the season opener, they’re making the trip to Foxborough to see the Chiefs battle the Patriots at Gillette Stadium, and there’s a lot on the line.
"If the Patriots win, you have to wear Patriots gear,” Shellie said. “You have to wear a Patriots hat for a week and I'll wear a Chiefs hat to work for a week. Ok, deal? Deal!"
