It's been nearly six months to the day since the Chiefs and John Dorsey parted ways. The club decided to not extend Dorsey's contract past the season, so Dorsey elected to walk right away.

The move shocked the entire NFL. A few weeks later the Chiefs promoted Brett Veach into the position. Dorsey remained silent.

Until Tuesday, when he appeared on the podcast "Know Them From Adam" hosted by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

For about 12 minutes, Dorsey talked about everything from what he learned in Kansas City to his assessment of the current Chiefs (which he built) to his plans for the future.

As for that fateful day in June, Dorsey said, "I've had better days."

Dorsey admitted to being a bit surprised by the move. "But that's part of the business. I'm just a caretaker and my responsibility was to try to acquire players to the best of my ability and life moves forward."
