KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Royals General Manager Dayton Moore offered encouraging news for Royals fans during his initial meeting with reporters Tuesday at Spring Training.

Moore confirmed the club will host fans at Kauffman Stadium this season. Though he's unsure of how many will be allowed.

"The Chiefs obviously had fans in the stands," Moore told reporters via Zoom. "I think they did a terrific job and really kind of helped create the model."

The Chiefs limited capacity to 22%, or roughly 16,000 fans, during the 2020 season.

"I think for the most part, people of Kansas City have been pretty disciplined," Moore said. "They've been pretty respectful of one another. They want to see each other succeed."

Opening Day for the Royals is scheduled for April 1.
