KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There is a “good possibility” the University of Missouri’s football game at LSU on Saturday will be moved to Columbia.

A source within Mizzou's athletic department said the final decision, which has been prompted by the threat of severe weather, will not be made until Wednesday morning.

Missouri was informed about the possibility of a venue change earlier Tuesday.

“As we continue to monitor the path of Hurricane Delta, all preparations are being made to accommodate playing the game as scheduled in Baton Rouge or to move the game if necessary,” the SEC said in communication with MU athletics officials. “A final decision on the status of the game is expected to be announced on Wednesday morning.”

The SEC is expected to make a decision around 9 a.m.

If the game is moved to Memorial Stadium in Columbia, fans will be allowed to attend — subject to the 25% capacity limit in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ticket information would be announced if and when the SEC moves the game.

Missouri is scheduled to play the reigning national champions at 8 p.m. on Saturday at LSU’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

If the game is moved to Columbia, kickoff would move to 11 a.m., according to KOMU Sports Director Ben Arnet.

Mizzou is 0-2 in its first season under coach Eli Drinkwitz, losing at home to Alabama and on the road at Tennessee.

Rebuilding LSU, which was added to MU’s schedule after the SEC decided in August to play a conference-only slate, is 1-1 this season.
