KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs reportedly added some veteran help on the defensive line.

According to Yahoo Senior NFL reporter Terez Paylor, Kansas City has agreed to a one-year deal with fourth-year defensive end Taco Charlton.

Charlton, a former first-round pick of the Cowboys in 2017, has made a limited impact during his first three years in the NFL, including two full seasons with Dallas before he was waived in September 2019.

Charlton signed with the Dolphins two games into last season and appeared in 10 games with sacks for Miami.

Overall, he has 67 career tackles and nine sacks in 37 career games, including 12 starts. He had shoulder surgery in January 2019.

Charlton joins a defensive-end rotation that includes Frank Clark, Alex Okafor, Tanoh Kpassagnon and Demone Harris.

He becomes the third former Michigan defensive lineman on the Chiefs’ roster along with Frank Clark and 2020 fifth-round pick Michael Danna.

Backup quarterback Chad Henne and undrafted rookie cornerback Lavert Hill also played for the Wolverines.
