The steady rain that started Thanksgiving is keeping local plumbers busy.
Many sump pumps aren't working due to the heavy rain we've seen in the region.
There are some simple things we can do at home to keep our sump pump working like testing it.
"Fill a bucket with water, toss it down the pit and see if your sump pump kicks on,” said Jerry Schmidt of Anthony Plumbing, Heating and Cooling.
Another piece of advice from Schmidt is to purchase a battery-operated backup sump pump.
