One person was killed in a two vehicle crash on Interstate 35 northbound at 7th Street in Kansas City, Kansas on Friday.
The crash was reported around 8:40 p.m. Northbound traffic was diverted at the Southwest Traffic way/Mission Road exit.
The investigation reveals that a Toyota Highlander was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-35. A Nissan Leaf was northbound on I-35. The Toyota struck the Nissan head-on in the left lane.
The driver of the Nissan sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Toyota sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The Kansas Highway Patrol was called to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
