KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Drivers using the Buck O'Neil Bridge may hit some traffic backups Thursday.
The southbound lanes of the bridge are already closed for construction. Thursday, the Missouri Department of Transportation will shut down one of the two northbound lanes between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Kansas City said MoDOT needs to shut down the lanes to do maintenance work on street lights.
The city expects some traffic delays and encourages drivers to plan accordingly, or perhaps use a different bridge during that time period.
Suggested routes include the Heart of America or Kit Bond Bridge to cross the Missouri River.
