Police are investigating after one vehicle caused several accidents on 169 Hwy. near W. 175th St.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, multiple accidents were reported around 6 p.m. Thursday.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a GMC Sierra pickup was traveling westbound across all lanes of traffic on 169 Highway and struck a Lincoln Mark LT and a GMC Safari. The pickup then went off the road and back on the road into the southbound lanes of 169 Highway when he ran a red light while turning left onto 175th Street and struck a semi.
The crash involving the truck and the semi sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries.
Another person suffered minor injuries in the other wreck.
Deputies closed 169 Hwy. northbound at W. 175th St. for a portion of Thursday night while they investigated.
