This has been one odd start to Spring as we have seen snow on Easter and the following Sunday. It looks like we will make it three consecutive Sunday's in April with snow as we get in on the back side of a large storm system tracking across the middle part of the USA. Now, you throw in a Friday the 13th severe weather episode along with three straight days with highs in the 80s April 11-13) and you can see why this is a crazy April.
It would have been crazier and much more serious to talk about if there was a tornado in downtown Kansas City. Well, it was very, very close to happening. Take a look at the video and the part where the thunderstorm is approaching Union Station. There is significant rotation and also a well defined rotating wall cloud. Wow! Thankfully, this thunderstorm weakened or we would have had quite a problem in Kansas City.
