Dreaming of a sunny week at the beach before the kids head back to school? Well, if you are headed to the Gulf Coast then mother nature may rain on your parade.
An area of low pressure is spinning over the Northern Gulf of Mexico and has already dropped anywhere from one to three inches of rain along many of the most popular beaches from New Orleans, Louisiana to Tampa, Florida.
This low really isn’t going to go anywhere this week, so another one to three inches could fall in the next seven days with local heavier amounts that could exceed 12 inches.
This will cause major flooding issues, so expect roadway closures and delays no matter which way you travel.
At this point, the conditions are not conducive for development into a Tropical Depression, but either way it will put a damper on your travel plans.
