Overnight rain causes flooding in Carrollton, Missouri

Posted
and last updated

Around nine inches of rain dumped down on Carrollton, Missouri overnight, causing flooding throughout the town on Monday morning.

A number of roads and highways surrounding the town were closed, and some are still closed due to high water.

Much of the water had receded by 11 a.m., but a portion of South Main Street was still flooded.

Two cars stalled, and one home's foundation crumbled.

Carrollton Police Chief Robert Turner told 41 Action News crews are out picking up debris.

The Wakenda River, on Carrollton's south side, is expected to crest and cause more flooding late Monday.

Our SkyTracker Helicopter flew over the area. Watch the video below to see the flooding.
