From the minds at Disney comes the latest installment of Star Wars.... Not a new feature film, but a three-minute video that tells the story of "The Force Awakens" with emoji characters--and complete with sound effects.
Disney has an entire YouTube playlist called, "As told by emoji," and the Star Wars video joins emoji versions of "Frozen," "Aladdin," and "Tangled" in the lineup.
The short film uses "icons like those that circulated on Twitter in the promotional push for the film,"writes Angela Waltercutter of Wired.com. "The clip rather astutely captures J.J. Abrams’ entire two-hour-plus movie in just three minutes. It even features BB-8’s flaming thumps-up and a rather interesting interpretation of Kylo Ren’s use of the Force on Rey."
