Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II was robbed at gunpoint in Texas on Friday, according to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to a residence in reference to an aggravated robbery. When they arrived, they met with four people who said they had been robbed by a man who they believed had a gun. One of the people robbed was Mahomes, according to the news release from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.

When the victims exited their car, the suspect pulled into the driveway and exited his car. As the suspect approached, he was gesturing as if he had a handgun in his waistband, the sheriff’s office said. The suspect demanded property from the victim, and then fled the scene in his car.

The news release said deputies were able to locate the suspect vehicle with 2 men inside. Deputies stopped the car and two suspects were taken into custody. Property taken during the robbery was recovered from the car.

The Smith County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing.
