2-hour KC standoff ends after no one inside

UPDATE, 10 p.m., Oct. 3, 2015:

The two-hour standoff ended at 10 p.m. after police entered the home and found no one inside. Officers have cleared the scene.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Kansas City police blocked off two streets Saturday night while attempting to negotiate with a suspect during a standoff off of Blue Ridge Boulevard, according to the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department.

Officers responded just before 8 p.m. to the 8700 block of Seventh Street in reference to a wanted suspect. Police set up a perimeter around the apartment, and the standoff began.

Seventh and Eighth streets off of Blue Ridge Boulevard were blocked off by police cars. Chief Darryl Forte released some information on Twitter, saying a negotiator was attempting to make contact "with possible aggravated assault suspect(s)" inside the apartment.
