Suspect in KCK homicide turns himself in to Wyandotte County Sheriff

UPDATE 4:40 P.M. 7/5/2017: Officials say the suspect in a July 1 homicide on the 4300 block of Lloyd Street has turned himself in.

He taken into custody at the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Department without incident on Wednesday, according to a release from the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.

He is currently awaiting charges.

Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in Kansas City, Kansas.

Officials say police responded to a shooting at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday on the 4300 block of Lloyd. Officers found a deceased man inside the home.

Police say they were told by witnesses that a suspect fled the scene on foot shortly before officials arrived. Officer dispatched a K9 unit in the area but never found the suspect. 

The victim was identified as Edwin Igo, 49, of Kansas City, Kansas.
