Adhoc Group Against Crime teamed up with the Bradford family Saturday evening to canvas the area of 57th and Michigan. Their goal? To encourage people who may have information to come forward.

"For our communities to be safe, we have to speak up and break the silence," said Damon Daniel, Director with Adhoc Group Against Crime. "Folks are either buying into the narrative that snitches get stitches … but I need folks to understand back home that our streets are not safe if we allow killers to live among us."

Charles Bradshaw was shot and killed near 57th and Michigan in the early a.m. hours of Sunday, October 23. His killer is believed to still be at large. Many friends and family also believe there are people in the community who know information but refuse to come forward.

"Somebody knows somethin that wants to talk,” said Thomas Bradshaw, Charles’ father.

"He wasn't a violent guy. Why they shot him like that is way beyond my imagination,” he said.

Bobbie Bradford, Charles’ sister, also talked to 41 Action News about how beloved her brother was.

"He loved me. He loved my kids. He went to church every Sunday,” she said. "He has two children, a boy and a girl, so we just need justice for them also."

There have been 100 homicides in KCMO so far in 2016. At least 50 percent of those homicides are currently unsolved, including Bradshaw’s.

"This is a reoccurring nightmare and we've gotta do better,” said Daniel.

Anyone with information regarding a crime can call Adhoc Group Against Crime anonymously at 816-753-1111 or KCPD at 474 – T-I-P-S.

A GoFundMe has been setup by Bobbie Bradshaw to support the family’s expenses following Charles’ death.
