OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Nearly two dozen car owners became victims of auto burglaries Sunday night in Overland Park.

Police are investigating two incidents Sunday night that could be connected.

Overland Park Police Spokesman John Lacy said police were called out to the New Theater Restaurant at 92nd and Foster between 7 and 11 p.m. on reports of car windows smashed and items stolen. In total, 18 cars had been hit. In at least two cases, firearms were stolen from the cars.

During the same time period, police were called to Red Lobster at 95th and Metcalf, where three other cars were found with smashed windows and stolen items.

Despite the busy locations, Lacy said no witnesses have come forward and police have yet to locate any surveillance video that would help in the investigation.
