Police are investigating after a man was fatally stabbed on Monday.
Authorities said KCPD officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Virginia on a report of the sound of gunshots at about noon. On arrival they reportedly found a deceased man in the front yard of a residence at that location.
A witness told the officers that the victim and suspect were inside the house when they became involved in an altercation, according to police. They reportedly ran outside the house, where the victim collapsed.
As the suspect ran away on foot, the witness shot at him, according to police.
