One person was fatally stabbed near 31st and Prospect early Wednesday morning in Kansas City, Missouri.

Officers responded to the scene around 3:15 a.m. after a cab driver spotted an injured man bleeding on the sidewalk of Prospect Avenue.

The cab driver stopped and took the man's pulse before calling the authorities.

According to police, the male victim had been stabbed and was transported to the hospital where he later died.

There is no suspect information at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
