For the family of a recent homicide victim, violence is not a new story.
David Duncan, 45, was fatally shot Friday on the 16900 block of E. 41th Terrace in Independence, Mo.

Duncan was discovered dead in the front yard of a home with gunshot injuries.
Independence police discovered a silver Cadillac they believe is connected to the case, but they’re still looking for the suspect or suspects who pulled the trigger.

About 18 months before Friday’s killing, David Duncan’s son was murdered in Kansas City, Mo.
Darrin Duncan was killed Jan. 13, 2014 at 2909 E. 22nd Street.
Darrin Duncan’s body was found in a car that was shot up. He had just left his home when he was shot, witnesses told police.
Like his father’s homicide, Darrin Duncan’s case remains unsolved.
