A fight led to gunshots on a KCATA bus Sunday morning.

One man was injured after three people started fighting on the back of the bus.

41 Action News obtained the exclusive video.

Some of the city’s regular bus riders were shocked to watch the altercation play out on camera.

“Yeah, I mean I was blown away by seeing that video and seeing the violence and seeing that gun,” said rider Jared Campbell. “I'm not sure what I would do."

19-year-old Kishawn Hargrove rides every day. “It really scared me, like it actually got me shaken right now.”

Police believe the victim got on the bus at 27th and Prospect and the suspects boarded at Truman Road and Brooklyn.

Witnesses told police the victim got aggressive first.

One of the two men then allegedly pulled a gun from his backpack and started hitting the victim repeatedly. The man then fired the gun, hitting the victim in the shoulder.

KCATA issued a statement to 41 Action News.

“We are grateful for the rapid response from our partners at KCPD and that the suspects were quickly arrested. Working hand-in-hand with local law enforcement is one of the reasons KCATA was deemed among the safest transit agencies in the nation last year.”

One man was taken into custody. He is not facing charges at this time.
