A student brought a handgun in a backpack to North Kansas City High School Tuesday morning.
A school district statement said the student cooperated with school officials and police.
No threats were made against students, teachers or staff members, according to the statement.
The school was not placed on lockdown.
No word on whether the student was arrested or will face charges.
