Independence police ask for help to ID, locate person of interest in homicide

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Independence police are asking for help to identify and locate a person of interest in connection to a homicide. 

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 12500 block of E. 43rd St. just after 10:30 a.m. Monday on a reported burglary. 

When first responders arrived, they noticed signs of forced entry at the home. A body was discovered inside. 

Police said the incident is being investigated as a homicide. 

Independence police are attempting to ID and locate a person of interest. Officers said the person was believed to have been injured during the incident. 

Police are also looking for a white Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
