Valentine’s Day is all about spreading love, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be love towards another person.

This Valentine’s Day 41 Action News asked viewers to write a love letter to Kansas City.

1. There are a lot of things to love about Kansas City, so it's hard to narrow it down to just three.

41 Action News anchor Christa Dubill said her favorite things about Kansas City are that the people are genuine, protective of the past but always willing to evolve and the fact that no matter what, we go through hardships and good times together.

2. Whether you've been here for a month or 50 years, Kansas City will always be home.

3. Nothing sparkles quite like the lights on the Country Club Plaza.

Charlie Trinqual Carlson wrote on Facebook, “when you have traveled all over the country and there is still nothing more beautiful than the Country Club Plaza Christmas lights. This is just another reason why I love Kansas City Mo.”

4. The love for Kansas City transcends into music.

Singer and songwriter Jim Cosgrove felt his love for Kansas City was better said through song.

5. Kansas City bar-b-que... it can't be beat.

6. Opinions may vary, but at the end of the day Kansas Citians come together.

7. Memories of Kansas City could fill a book.

Dorothy Wiseman said she loves KC because it is her life. She got married and had her children all in Kansas City, adding to the special connection she feels to the area.

“I've gone all the way up the Liberty Memorial and looked out at the city..it seems to go forever. When I was a child there were pony rides...real ponies. My dad would take me there and it was my first experience riding. I now have a farm and have had horses. Guess where that idea came from. There are so many reasons to love KC I could write a book.”

8. Spirit goes beyond cheering for the local teams.

9. But let's not forget about the Royals, Chiefs and Sporting KC.

10. People are always there to lend a helping hand.

11. Families can come together to explore the city.

Kashmir Campbell says she will always be an Ohio girl, but Kansas City has stolen her heart. "I have been here for 10 years now and whether you are celebrating a World Series, or coming together to help folks in need, or protesting injustice -- you do it with class and honor and love." said Campbell.

12. For better or for worse, this is our city.

Jodi Seibert shared her deep roots to KC.

“Dear KC, I love the history of us. I love the fact that my great grandmother owned her own business, America’s first covered horse arena. She worked hard boarding horses and giving riding lessons to support her kids,” said Seibert. “I love the fact that KC celebrates and supports history. I love the fact that KC citizens go out of their way to help others. I love KC BBQ! KC… oh my… you have the best BBQ anywhere in the world. I love you KC!”
