The driver of a reportedly stolen vehicle was stopped by police after a chase across state lines on Monday afternoon.

The Kansas City Police Department attempted to pull over the Jeep out of Kansas City, Kansas. Police say they were monitoring the vehicle in Kansas City, Missouri before it went over state lines.

A KCMO officer attempted to arrest the driver of the Jeep at 3rd and Garfield, when the driver sped away, officials said.

The police helicopter followed the vehicle through parts of Kansas and Missouri. The Wyandotte County Sheriff's Department followed the vehicle on the ground.

After nearly an hour of driving, the driver of the Jeep took off road into the backyard of a neighborhood and into a creek. He was later apprehended in the area of north 64th Terrace and Everett in KCK.
