The Kansas City mother who learned that her daughter was stolen along with her car speaks out about the entire ordeal.

Alexis Murray thought it was a joke when her boyfriend told her that her car and daughter had been stolen from the Valero gas station in Kansas City, Kansas.

"We just had to sit and wait, which is the most devastating moments of someone's life when you have to sit and wait. You don't know what's going on," said Murray.

The mother of three said she immediately turned to social media and printed off pictures to help police. When she saw the surveillance video of the car being stolen she was horrified.

"Did they know the kid was in the car? Two, if you knew she was in the car, why would you take her? And what are you going to do with her," said Murray.

Amaya Vester was found about four hours after she was taken. Kansas City, Kansas police found the toddler walking along a road in rural Leavenworth County.

Amaya is now back to her normal life with her two big sisters.
